Sub-title: A Journey of Two Brothers
This was a delightful find, and a moving story of sibling love and support. Royd is the great-grandson of R.R. Tolkien, author of the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings books. He and his brother Mike grow up in the countryside of Wales, inseparable. Mike is the daredevil, Royd the steady-as-she-goes, cautious one.
Mike is struck with a horrible incurable and terminal disease, ALS, or as Royd refers to it, motor neurone disease. Mike leaves a "bucket list" for Royd to complete as a journey through his grief and remembrance of his brother. The story was documented in a film too. Uplifting and inspiring.
